Today is such a historical day with the Inauguration of our 44th President, Barack Hussain Obama.
this morning power 96 played 'i believe i can fly' by R.Kelly with parts of President Obama's acceptance speech throughout the song.. yea. tears. but how exciting to see him walk down and take the oath.. i think i was nervous for him...can you imagine.?! and did you seeeee how proud his family was.?!?! .. this is something to tell my kids.. and grandkids.. and they can tell their kids. lol. no, but seriously. it was pretty amazing.
His powerful speech told of his determination to lead us to "pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off", and rededicate ourselves to the hard work it takes to make a step towards change. His speech showed faith in the American people while reminding us that we have to come together as a nation and rebuild America together.
"The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history: to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness."
Last night at the Concert of the Eve of Change JayZ had this to say...
part of Jigga's remix to Jeezy's 'My President'
My President is Black in fact he’s half white
So even in a racist mind he’s half right
If you got a racist mind it's alright
My President is Black but his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther can walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama can run
Barack Obama ran so all the children can fly
So I’m a spread my wings you can meet me in the sky
so. yea.
a positive change for this country..
and i have faith in President Obama's dream for the future of this country.
